The Unknown Source of Communicable Diseases
Ocularist Zahid Hafeez discovered a lethal side of Ophthalmic practice i.e. infection through re-using eye prostheses by different patients, which has been causing irreparable damage to innumerable patients. His paper on this research "The Unknown Source of Communicable Diseases" was published in Ophthalmic journal of Pakistan (October 2001 issue ) and was widely appreciated/admired by ophthalmologists both at home as well as abroad. It may be of interest that this source of infection was identified for the first time in the World by Ocularist Zahid Hafeez.
Calibrated Prostho Guide Conformer
The Ocularists, universally face a typical problem of fitment of prostheses in children of upto adolescent age. Who out of fear would let the Ocularists take the impression of their affected eye and same goes for fitting the prosthesis. Ocular Zahid Hafeez developed a technique "Guide Conformer" to overcome this problem which shall eliminate the lengthy process of taking Impressions time and again to make the prosthesis and then adjusting it for proper fitment.

10-years comparative study based on 82 patients between solid (heavy) and new Light-Weight hollow prosthesis reinforced with glycol dimethacrylate (a cross-linking monomer) for large ocular sockets.
