The ocular prosthesis is made from a plastic material called poly(methyl methacrylate), or PMMA. It is more commonly known as Acrylic. This new material reduces the risk of injury, It is inert and non-reactive and improves the ability to be painted to match the patient’s other eye, as well as increases the stability and longevity of the prosthetic.
We can modify the shape of the prosthesis to an extent to create eyelid symmetry and we will paint the prosthetic eye to match the colour of your companion eye. We do our best to achieve the optimal result
