Over a century of seeing eye to eye

SIGHTS is a research oriented lab and is engaged in the field of Ocularisty since 1899. This is the first lab which continuously excelled in the field and served humanity with great zeal. A large number of people gained confidence from Sights and are living normal life in the society.

Zahid Hafeez, a blessed researcher, at the age of sixteen, fabricated a first custom made impression based artificial eye (Ocular Prosthesis) with indigenous resources in the history of Pakistan. Now Sights is known for best solution oriented lab.

Globally Sights is also pioneer of PMMA Light Weight Ocular Prosthesis (Artificial Eye). On Laboratory level, Sights developed New PMMA Light Weight Ocular Prosthesis in 1988. But in July 18, 2006 the first PMMA Custom made Light weight hollow prosthesis was fabricated for a 12 years old girl named Laraib from Sheikhpura Pakistan.

Zahid Hafeez has now been working in this profession for the last five decades. His services have been acknowledged by various societies. He is a recipient of Prof.Latif Chaudhary Gold Medal “OSP Centre”, Gold Medal ISRA University and OSP Hyderabad, Honorary Member OSP Lahore, Professional Excellence Award OSP Lahore, Life Time Achievement Award OSP KPK, Silver Jubilee Gold Medal OSP Lahore, Distinguished Services Gold Medal OSP

Lahore, Distinguished Services Gold Medal OSP Federal, President’s Medal of Honor by Government of Pakistan. He is a member of a number of National and International Associations related to his field. He also wrote an original article on the lethal infection through acrylic ocular prosthesis “The unknown Source of Communicable Diseases “first ever in the world published in Pakistan Journal of Ophthalmology in “2001” volume 17, Number 14. He also authored a guide book for patients with Ocular Prosthesis which is highly commended by doctors and patients.
